EPS component installation

1、 Installation method of EPS components:

1. Other construction procedures such as wall installation, window and door openings have been completed and accepted.

2. According to the construction drawings, snap the positioning line (centerline or sideline) at the position where EPS components are to be installed.

3. Cut EPS components according to the installation dimensions in the drawing. EPS components are of standard size, and the splicing seam width shall be considered when cutting.

4. When pasting EPS components, the grid cloth should be turned over. If there are special circumstances, it can be directly pasted without turning over. The bonding agent for polyphenyl EPS components uses high-quality bonding mortar, which is pasted by the thin layer full bonding method. The EPS components are forced to overflow the mortar from the periphery, and the width of the bonding joint is not more than 3mm. The bonding joint shall be hooked as it is glued, the mortar joint shall be full, and the EPS component surface shall be kept clean.

5. For larger EPS components, support is required for temporary fixation during installation.

6. During installation, if splicing is required, the assembly size and angle shall be measured in advance, and pre assembly shall be carried out at a flat place, with the gap no more than 3mm. High quality bonding mortar shall be used as the bonding material for splicing. The mortar consistency may be slightly higher, and the thin layer full bonding method shall be adopted. When splicing, it is required to squeeze and hammer slightly and evenly to make the mortar joint meet the requirements.

7. After splicing, the mortar joint shall be leveled with a mortar knife to integrate EPS components. After drying, if there is excess bonding mortar left at the seam of EPS component, sand paper can be used for polishing.

8. After drying, the splicing parts of EPS components shall be treated with special anti cracking adhesive for EPS components. See the instructions for special anti crack adhesive for treatment methods.

9. Butt joint treatment: when the width of the bonding joint is not more than 3mm, the butt joint shall be sanded on the next day after installation, and high-quality covering mortar shall be used to paste 100mm wide glass fiber mesh cloth with a thickness of less than 2mm; When the width of the bonding joint is greater than 3mm, the joint shall be filled with thin polystyrene sheets, and then be strengthened by pasting 100mm wide glass fiber mesh cloth with high-quality covering mortar. After drying, if there is surplus mortar left at the seam of the line foot, the treatment method is the same as above.

10. Pay attention to the finished product protection of EPS components after construction, and it is strictly prohibited to pedal or hit by heavy objects. In case of damage, the whole EPS component shall be removed and reinstalled.
