1. Monument to the Discoverer.

The Monument to the Discoverer is located in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, near the mouth of the Tagus River. It was built in 1940. In the era of great exploration in the 15-16th century, there were countless ships sailing from here into the unknown. On this monument, 32 Portuguese discoverers with remarkable deeds are displayed.

2. Lincoln Statue.

There are many monuments and memorials of Abraham Lincoln in Washington, D.C., among which the statue of Lincoln completed by Daniel Chester is recognized as the best one. The construction of Lincoln Memorial was approved in 1911 and completed in 1922. The statue of Lincoln in the main hall was completed in 1920 and unveiled in 1922.

3. Little mermaid.

The Little Mermaid Bronze Statue is a world-famous bronze statue, located in the Causeway Park in the northeast of the center of Copenhagen, Denmark, which is the symbol of Denmark. The bronze statue is about 1.5 meters high and its cornerstone is about 1.8 meters in diameter. It was cast by Danish sculptor Edward Eriksson according to Andersen's fairy tale The Daughter of the Sea.

The Statue of Liberty, also known as Liberty Shines the World, is located in New York Harbor, Manhattan, New York, USA. This statue was designed by French sculptor Friedrich Auguste Bartledy and completed on October 28, 1886. It is a gift from France to the United States.

6. A dying Gaul.

This marble statue was carved by the ancient Romans in the first and second centuries AD. It depicts a Gaul soldier who was seriously wounded in the chest. At the end of his life, he bowed his head and still wanted to stay up to fight again. This statue was excavated under the Ludovesi Villa in Rome in 1623, and is now in the Capitolio Museum in Rome, Italy.

7. Bust of Nefertiti.

The bust of Nefertiti first appeared in 1912. A German archaeological team found this 3300 year old limestone bust in the studio of ancient Egyptian Amarna sculptor Thutmosis. Nefertiti was the queen of the pharaoh Akhenaten in the 14th century BC. This bust is collected in the new museum in Berlin, Germany.

8. Kiss.

This is a marble sculpture completed by French sculptor Rodin in 1889. It combines lust and rationalism, and produces an artistic work expressing human nature and love.

9. Pieta.

Pieta Madonna, also known as mourning for Christ, was Michelangelo's masterpiece in 1496 during the Renaissance, located in St. Peter's Cathedral in the Vatican. It depicts the grief of the Virgin Mary as she embraces the crucified Christ. This is the artist's first work with this theme.

10. Sphinx.

The Sphinx, or Sphinx, is a statue next to the Kavra Pyramid in Egypt. It is shaped like the body of a lion and the head of a person. The Sphinx is about 73.5m long, 19.3m wide and 20.22m high. The Sphinx is the oldest memorial statue known today. It is generally believed that it was built during the reign of Pharaoh Havra.

11. Discus thrower.

The discus thrower, an ancient Greek sculpture, is the representative work of the sculptor Miron, which was completed at the end of the ancient style period. 12. The statue of David.

The statue of David is the representative work of Michelangelo, the great Italian sculptor (painter) in the Renaissance. It was created in 1501-1504 and is now collected in the Florence Academy of Fine Arts. This statue is considered to be one of the most boastful male figures in the history of western art. The statue is carved from a block of marble, 517cm high and weighs more than 5000kg.

13. Venus of Milo.

Venus de Milo, also known as Venus de Brokeback, is a famous ancient Greek statue, which was created between 130 and 100 BC. It represents Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty in Greek mythology, and the corresponding Venus goddess in Roman mythology. The marble statue is 202cm high, slightly larger than the real size of the human body. It was discovered on the Greek island of Milos in 1820, so it is called the Venus of Milos.

14. Athena.

Athena, the goddess of wisdom in Greek mythology, is also the patron god of Athens. Originally as the main statue in the main hall of the Parthenon Temple, it was 13 meters high, carved from silver white marble, and partially inlaid with ivory and gold. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in the Byzantine Empire. This is a small imitation of marble. The whole image is full of female tenderness and life, more human nature and less divine nature, which indicates that art in the Hellenistic period has become secular.

15. Standing statue of Menkola and his wife.

It is carved from the emerald clay slate. It is about 142 cm high. It was created in 2600 BC and is now in the Boston Museum. This is a two person standing statue in the Fourth Dynasty of the Ancient Kingdom of Egypt, and it is also the most typical representative of the imperial standing statues at that time. The statue depicts Menkola, the fifth pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty of the Ancient Kingdom of Egypt, and his princess.
